The Dedham Treasure Trail is a fun, self-guided outdoor treasure hunt set in the picturesque village of Dedham, Essex. It follows an engaging mystery called “The Missing Masterpiece”, where players help solve a museum robbery involving stolen oil paintings. The Trail mixes storytelling, puzzle-solving, and sightseeing into an interactive experience for all ages.
This is a self-guided treasure hunt walking Trail that takes you through Dedham churchyard, park, and along the High Street. It is a 1.4-mile circular route that takes around 1.5 hours to complete at your own pace and is suitable for ages 6–106. Activities include solving clues, following directions, learning local facts and stories, using a text message clue service if you get stuck, and entering a £100 monthly prize draw once the mystery is solved.
The Treasure Hunt Trail costs £9.99, with one Trail booklet suitable for 4–5 people taking part together. The Trail can be downloaded instantly or sent by post, and it can also be used for birthday parties, following the standard Treasure Trails format.
