St Albans Treasure Trail is a self-guided outdoor adventure that turns the historic city of St Albans into a fun puzzle-solving experience. Based on a fictional mystery, it challenges explorers to recover stolen Roman treasures while discovering the city’s past. It’s suitable for ages 6–106 and can be enjoyed at your own pace.
The walking Trail starts near the Verulamium Museum and takes you through the Old City, past St Albans Cathedral, the oldest pub in the UK, and sections of the Roman wall built between 265 and 270 AD. It is a 1.85-mile loop that takes 2+ hours, with clues, maps, directions, and puzzles to solve along the way. Features include a text message clue service if you get stuck, entry into a £100 monthly prize draw, and the option to download instantly or receive a printed copy by post.
The Treasure Trail costs £9.99 per Trail, which covers the whole group taking part together. The same Trail can also be used for birthday parties, working best in small teams of 4–5 people, with adult support recommended for younger children.
St Albans Treasure Trail offers a great mix of sightseeing, problem-solving, and storytelling. It’s a fun way to learn about local history while exploring the city on foot. Ideal for families, visitors, and small groups, it turns a simple walk into a memorable adventure through St Albans.
