Miniport Gunwharf Quays offers fun and easy electric boat hire at the popular Gunwharf Quays waterfront in Portsmouth. Established in 2011, it is part of the UK’s largest electric boat hire company, giving visitors the chance to captain their own boat. It’s a simple, family-friendly activity set right by the marina and close to the iconic Spinnaker Tower.

The fleet consists of electric boats that can carry up to five people, with no need to row or pedal. Children can act as “Mini Captains” as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Life jackets are provided for all ages, including babies, and must be worn at all times. The attraction is open on weekends and during school holidays from 10am to 5pm, weather permitting.

Boat hire costs £15 per boat for a minimum 15-minute session, with up to five people included in the price. Extra time may be given if it is quiet. Parking is available at Gunwharf Quays Car Park, making it easy to combine your boat ride with shopping or dining nearby.

MINIPORT are the UK’s largest electric boat hire in the UK. We have been established since 2011. All our staff are fully trained and will make sure we provide the utmost in safety and professional service.
MINIPORT have a large fleet of ships for you to be a captain of. Our fleet of boats are all electric, so no need to pedal or row!! Great fun for all the family, our boats can fit up to five people.
Mini Captains (Children) are allowed to be a captain of the ship as long as they are accompanied by a responsible person. We will do our best to accommodate people with disabilities wherever we can, however our two Portsmouth sites have steps which make wheel chair access difficullt.
Our Gunwharf Quays site is located at Gunwharf Quays Shopping Centre, in Portsmouth, Hampshire. We are located on the waterfront by the marina and Spinnaker Tower. There is plenty of parking in Gunwharf Quays Car Park.

Our electric boats will accommodate up to five people per boat.
The cost is £15 per boat, up to 5 people, for a minimum of 15 minutes afloat being a captain of your own ship.
If we are quiet we always allow extra time.

MiniPort Boat Hire at Gunwharf Quays is open every weekend and school holidays subject to weather conditions. We are open from 10am until 5pm, if the weather is extra kind to us we will stay open longer into the evening.
