Lake District Wildlife Park is a family-friendly animal attraction in Cumbria, home to over 100 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and more. Set in 24 acres of countryside, it offers a fun and educational experience for all ages. Visitors can enjoy daily animal talks, hands-on encounters, and peaceful natural surroundings.

Families can meet red pandas, otters, gibbons, donkeys, and even wild boar, and join keeper-led animal experiences like grooming tapirs or meeting lemurs up close. Kids will enjoy talks about reptiles, birds of prey, and primates, along with themed events like Leaping Lemurs and Vulture Awareness Days. Facilities include a home-cooked café, picnic areas, and free parking.

Admission costs are £14.95 for adults, £13.95 for seniors, £12.95 for children, and free for under 3s. A family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) is £52.

Birthday parties start from £25 per child and include full-day entry, decorated party room, buffet, gift bags, soft play use, free adult tickets, and animal feed bags.

  • Wildlife: Lake District Wildlife Park cares for over 100 species across mammals, birds of prey, reptiles, primates, otters, red pandas, wild boar, Jerusalem donkeys (“Annie and Dooley”), Cameroon sheep and more, all showcased through daily keeper talks, interactive displays and themed enclosures. The collection includes endangered species like red pandas and lar gibbons alongside domesticated animals and exotic invertebrates.
  • Animal Experience: Lake District Wildlife Park’s Experience offers hands‑on encounters such as grooming a tapir, meeting lemurs up close, and working with on-site experience keepers. These immersive animal experiences are designed to bring you closer to the wildlife and support conservation initiatives.
  • Keeper Talks: Visitors can attend a diverse program of daily keeper talks—including the Reptile & Minibeast Talk at 11 am (meet snakes, lizards, tortoises and learn about reptile adaptations), Bird of Prey Displays at 12 pm & 3 pm (featuring owls, hawks, falcons, vultures and more), a fun Flamingo Talk at 1 pm, a Primate Talk at 2 pm showcasing gibbons, lemurs and marmosets, and the Lynx Talk at 4 pm to meet the Eurasian lynx Cae and Elva and learn about their hunting behaviour and seasonal coat changes  .
  • Events: This summer features Leaping Lemurs (19 July–31 August): family fun with quizzes, face painting, mask making, and daily primate feeding at 2 pm, with occasional appearances by King Julien. From 19–31 August, join in International Vulture Awareness Days with quizzes and activities focused on vultures and supporting the International Vulture Programme, alongside regular Bird of Prey displays at 12 pm & 3 pm.
