Description

King’s College Chapel is one of the most iconic and recognisable buildings in Cambridge and a central part of King’s College life. Built between 1446 and 1515, it is regarded as one of the finest examples of late Perpendicular Gothic architecture in England. The Chapel is an active place of worship and a world-famous landmark of the University of Cambridge.

The Chapel features the world’s largest fan vault, magnificent stained glass windows, and an early Renaissance rood screen. Visitors can learn about the history of the Chapel, experience the renowned Chapel organ, and discover its role as the home of the King’s College Choir. Activities include attending Chapel services, which are free and open to all, and the famous Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols held every Christmas Eve.

Admission prices are £17.50 for adults, £15.00 for children (5+), and £15.00 for students with valid ID. Family tickets cost £44.50 for one adult with 2–3 children or £62.00 for two adults with 2–3 children, while group tickets (15+) are £16.25 per adult and £13.75 per student.

Overall, King’s College Chapel offers a powerful blend of architecture, music, and history. It allows visitors to experience centuries of craftsmanship alongside a living tradition of worship and choral music. This attraction is a must-visit for anyone exploring Cambridge and interested in heritage, culture, and one of the UK’s most celebrated buildings.
