Description

Kia Ora Mini Farm is a family-run open pet farm that stands out as one of the best things to do with kids in Wexford. Located just outside Gorey, this interactive attraction lets children get incredibly close to both traditional farm animals and exotic species. It is a safe, fully enclosed environment designed for children to run, learn, and play freely.

Prices start from approximately £9.35 (€11.00) per person, with children under 12 months old entering completely free. Unlike many other play centres, the farm operates on an all-inclusive single-entry model. This means once you pay at the gate, every single ride and activity inside is completely free to use all day long.

If you are looking for the best place for a day out with family and kids, this pet farm offers a brilliant mix of outdoor adventure and animal connection. Kids can cuddle small animals in the barn, ride a real fire engine, and test their skills on the go-kart tracks. It is a stress-free destination where parents do not have to worry about constant hidden upcharges.

What to see

What Visitors Love

  • The wonderful all-inclusive entry ticket that includes the fire engine, go-karts, and diggers for free.
  • Outstandingly friendly, helpful staff who make kids feel incredibly welcome during animal handling.
  • A highly secure, fully enclosed site which lets parents sit back and relax while kids run safely.
  • Extremely well-maintained cement paths that make the entire farm highly buggy and wheelchair accessible.

What Visitors Don't Like

  • The on-site café primarily sells coffee and home-baked treats rather than full hot lunch meals.
  • Outdoor play areas can get slippery and cold on wet days, so wellies and waterproofs are highly recommended.

Pro-Tips

  • Pack Your Own Lunch: There is a lovely indoor and outdoor picnic area, and you are welcome to eat your own packed food inside the coffee shop.
  • Avoid School Tour Mornings: During June, try to visit in the afternoon as local school groups often occupy the play areas during the morning hours.
  • Keep Your Camera Ready: Bring a fully charged phone or camera because there are countless photo spots, especially on the fire engine and sitting in the animal barn.
