St Thomas A Becket Primary School, Abbey Wood is Independent State Primary school kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Co Educational )

This is a happy, safe and successful school which wants the children, parents and staff to develop a lifelong love of learning. They work together to make the school a vibrant and inspiring place. which offers the children a rich and varied range of experiences. They aim to open children's minds, offer them the opportunity to experience the rich cultural environment that they live in as well as letting children know that it is alright to make mistakes and that they learn by taking risks. They want the children to be confident, respectful, resilient, inquisitive individuals with the skills to adapt to the changing world they live in.

Curriculum
The school curriculum comprises all learning and other experiences that each school plans for its pupils. The national curriculum forms one part of the school curriculum. All state schools are also required to make provision for a daily act of collective worship and must teach religious education to pupils at every key stage and sex and relationship education to pupils in secondary education. Maintained schools in England are legally required to follow the statutory national curriculum which sets out in programmes of study, on the basis of key stages, subject content for those subjects that should be taught to all pupils. Things to note

Forest School
At St Thomas a Becket they are very fortunate to have a large Forest School site as well as an additional Nature Area which is part of the ongoing outdoor provision in Foundation Stage. The Nature Area is also used by Key Stage 1 to develop their understanding and knowledge of the curriculum by exploring different experiences in the natural environment.
