Spratton Hall School is Independent Secondary school in Non-selective for kids aged 4 to 13 (Gender - 4 to 13 )
Spratton Hall is a day preparatory (prep) school, which means that they prepare children for their Common Entrance exams, to independent senior schools, in Year 8. Also known as a private or independent school, they are able to set the own curriculum, offer an extensive range of sports, arts and extra-curricular provision, and create a kind and caring school community. Younger children (aged 4-7) begin their school life in the Pre-Prep department, which is housed in a large, purpose-built and welcoming department, staffed by exceptional early years teachers. Nestled in 50 acres of Northamptonshire countryside, we have a theatre, Forest School, sport’s dome, numerous sports pitches, cross-country and athletics.
PRE-PREP (4-7)
The Spratton Hall Pre-Prep Department is a self-contained, and purpose-built space full of fun, learning and exploration, that gently prepares children for entry to the Prep School. Nestled at the heart of the school and consisting of three year groups, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, each class has its own teacher and at least one full-time teaching assistant.Pre-Prep has its own routines, playgrounds and classrooms, providing children with a feeling of comfort, security and the highest standards of pastoral care, whilst also benefitting from the excellent and extensive facilities shared with the senior school. This includes Music, Dance and performances in the Spratton Hall theatre, weekly sessions in Five Acres Forest School, and PE and Game in either the Sports Dome or Playing Fields.
PREP (8-13)
The Prep (Preparatory) School at Spratton Hall comprises of Years 3 to 8. The majority of children move up from our Pre-Prep Department in Year 3, but children from other schools can join us at any time up to Year 8. They are called a Preparatory School, because traditionally they prepare pupils for their senior school 13+ Common Entrance exams, although you may hear them referred to as a private or independent school as well.

Selection Criteria: Selective
ENTRY INTO RECEPTION
For children starting school in Reception at the beginning of the school year (the Autumn Term), places are non selective but are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Filling in a registration form and paying a single registration fee of £75 per family, is sufficient to reserve a place.
ENTRY INTO PRE-PREP (YEARS 1 TO 2)
Children coming into our Pre-Prep in Years 1 and 2 will need to spend approximately half a day at school for an informal and relaxed literacy and numeracy assessment. In the event of this not being feasible, we will contact your child’s school or nursery for a reference. The offer of a place would be subject to the outcome of the familiarisation day or reference, and whether there is space available in the year group. Prior to the familiarisation day a £75 family registration fee will be required to reserve the space.
ENTRY INTO PREP (YEARS 3 TO 8)
Entry into the Prep School is subject to availability and an assessment day. For Years 3 to 8, children would usually have an assessment day in School prior to being offered a place. Should this not be feasible, contact will be made with the child’s current school and a reference will be sought, either oral or written, before a place is offered. Prior to the assessment day a £75 family registration fee will be required to reserve the space.
