NURSERY & PRE-PREP
The Early Years Foundation Stage staff at Finborough is a team of people whose task is simply to educate children in a safe, caring environment, which allows the child to learn at their own pace, where play is at the centre of their learning journeys.The staff team across the Early Years are individuals who are very passionate about developing the child as a whole. All members of staff are Early Years specialists. It is essential that any member of staff working within the early years have the correct qualifications. This enables us to have a great understanding of child development to support them at this crucial stage of learning.
PREP SCHOOL
At Finborough, they cannot help but be excited and happy to spend the day in such a beautiful environment, both inside and outside of Finborough Hall. Pupils and staff alike enjoy roaming the grounds during outside lessons and participating fully in school life. The Prep School is incredibly fortunate to have its classrooms in the rooms of the historic Finborough Hall. They have the perfect mix of history and technology within our classrooms, which thet feel supports perfectly the learning taking place.The link between the Senior School and the Prep School could not be stronger. Despite the slight geographical distance, pupils ‘spend rewarding time together, both for social and learning activities’ and the staff share best practice across the age groups.
SENIOR SCHOOL
Following an excellent period of transition from the Prep School and in the spirit of our school belief that Better Never Stops, the pupils are at the centre of a bespoke curriculum, geared towards the best preparation for life.With Learnability informing a dialogue for developing learning behaviour, our excellent subject teachers facilitate a three-tier, differentiated approach to learning by means of a Support, Core and Challenge framework. The success of this approach, judged to be excellent by ISI, means that not only are our GCSE results consistently outstanding but also that lessons are accessible for all and universally enjoyed.
SIXTH FORM
At the top of the school the sixth form is open to students from our own year eleven and young adults joining us for post sixteen education. You join a thriving and growing community with a rich curriculum and wealth of opportunities. They offer an unrivalled level of support and challenge, with close academic and pastoral care made possible by small classes, excellent teaching and an exceptional attention to detail.All of the students enjoy an individualised programme built around both academic success and the best preparation for life. They focus intently on their progress and the requisite learning skills required both for their academic qualifications and going forward to university and beyond.

SPORT
Sport runs deep through the veins of Finborough. The paramount importance of athletic endeavour can be seen in the pupils on so many levels. Their physical wellbeing and fitness is enhanced tremendously by the active life they enjoy at Finborough. We are strong believers that a healthy body is inextricably linked to a healthy mind.Sport provides an outstanding opportunity to develop key qualities including perseverance, determination, leadership and collaboration; set aside a healthy competitive spirit which is balanced with deeply embedded humility and honour.
PERFORMING ARTS
Here at Finborough, they are passionate about the Performing Arts. Drama, Music and Dance play a vital role in the education of all pupils at the school. Pupils develop key skills for life in creativity, teamwork, self-expression and confidence. We believe these are invaluable skills in preparing the pupils for a range of future study and career options. We encourage all pupils to participate in the performing arts whether as an actor, dancer, musician, designer, director, back stage or as a critical observer.Drama and Dance are taught in well-equipped studios complete with mirrors and lighting rigs. The Music department has its own separate area of the school with 2 large teaching rooms (including iMac and garage band technology), peripatetic rooms and a recording studio.
SENIOR SCHOOL STUDY AND ACTIVITIES
Senior School pupils who elect to stay at school after lesson 6. Between 4:30pm and 5:30pm pupils can participate in one of the range of activities that are on offer. Alternatively they can elect to use this hour for independent study, to complete their prep. This will be supervised in our Hub and ICT areas to enable access to all the resources pupils may need. To support best focus and learning discipline, work is completed in silence with our Year 10 and 11’s able to listen to appropriate ‘earphone’ music as long as it does not cause them or others any distraction. Dinner is available at 5:30pm and all pupils are welcome to eat before the conclusion of their school day.
