Facilities

EYFS Curriculum
For the Nursery and Reception classes, they follow the revised Early Years Foundation Stage Framework 2021. This lays a secure foundation for future learning that is planned around the needs and interests of each individual child. At Barnet Hill we recognise that every child is unique and all children learn and develop in various ways and have their own learning styles.  They learn by exploring, playing, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which is facilitated both indoors and outdoors at all times. There is a mixture of child-initiated and teacher-led learning opportunities for all children daily.

Curriculum
They teach the National Curriculum to Years 1-6 and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to our children in Reception and Nursery. We want our children to learn and have fun whilst they are learning and that's what we aim to do at Barnet Hill Academy; make learning fun, enjoyable, inquisitive and a creative process so that our children develop a love for learning, reading, mathematical enquiry and everything else a rich curriculum has to offer...we regulalry upload our plans; Annual, Half-Termly and even fortnightly targets (English & Maths) to enable parents to track, engage and support their child's learning journey whilst at the Academy.

SMSC: Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural
SMSC stands for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. All schools in England must show how well their pupils develop in SMSC. As part of work in this area, it meets Article 2 for the Rights of the Child where they apply to every child without discrimination. The spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the child is recognised as being of fundamental importance for the education of all children by our staff and parents of our school and it is crucial for society as a whole. We believe it is the heart of what education is all about - helping pupils grow and develop as people and effective participants in modern Britain and the world beyond.
