Backwell School is a State Secondary School for kids aged 11 to 18 (Gender - Mixed)

Curriculum
At Backwell School the primary aim is to ensure that all pupils develop the knowledge and skills necessary to play their part in society and live fulfilled and successful lives. They also want them to enjoy their time at school and have opportunities to pursue their interests and ambitions inside and outside of the classroom. They therefore subscribe to the shared strategic aim of the other Lighthouse Schools Partnership (LSP) schools.

Trips, Clubs and Enrichment
A wide range of clubs and courses are available for Backwell School students and the school has a strong tradition in PE and the Arts.  Sports fixtures, Drama, Dance and Music productions and Music concerts give large numbers of students enjoyable and valuable experiences in these areas. ​After-school activities are updated and published in the Autumn and Spring terms. In addition to the Clubs and Activities Booklet, you will also find the schedules for both Sports and Performing Arts as well as many other after-school clubs.  All schedules detail what is happening when and where, and for which year group.​
