Description

Welton Waters Adventure Centre in East Yorkshire is a friendly and exciting outdoor activity hub set beside a beautiful inland lake and sheltered woodland. Perfect for families, schools, and groups, it offers water and land-based adventures for all ages and abilities. With over 10 years of experience and RYA accreditation, the centre provides safe, fun, and professional instruction.

Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities including sailing, powerboating, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, windsurfing, and the latest craze — wingsurfing. On land, guests can take part in archery, bushcraft, and team games, while open water swimming is also available most days, with special evening sessions in summer.

Prices are affordable, with equipment hire starting from £15 per hour for paddleboards, kayaks, and canoes, £35 for rafted canoes, £15 for windsurfing, and double-handed dinghies from £20 per hour.

Sailing

WWAC provides the perfect safe environment for an introduction to start your sailing adventure, we have a wide variety of boats from small single hander dinghies i.e. Pico’s & Toppers etc., double handers including RS Feva’s, Laser 2000’s, Wayfarers and more.
All our sessions are run by highly qualified and experienced RYA Dinghy instructors. Our biggest stable boats are perfect for introducing a group of beginners into the world of sailing and allow the group to enjoy the experience of sailing as a team.

Windsurfing

Windsurfing is one of the most exhilarating sports around. Modern boards and sails have revolutionised learning to windsurf. At WWAC our boards are geared to the beginner end of the spectrum to get you windsurfing as fast as possible.
Our shallow lake makes for the ideal setting for students to build their confidence on the water. The sense of achievement gained from the feeling of speed and control on the water whilst windsurfing is second to none.

Open Water Swimming

Open Water Swimming is available all day any day we are open (last entry 1 hour before we close) except Saturday’s when the swim time is restricted to 9am-10am (You can arrive a little early to get kitted up).
During the summer months we also run Wednesday evening swim sessions 5pm-7pm. Wetsuits not required but if you are wanting to swim in skins (no wetsuit) once the water temperature has dropped below 15º you must have been signed off by our Open Water Swim Coach.

Kayaking & Canoeing

Get close to nature and enjoy the outdoors. Kayaking and Canoeing are suitable for all ages and is great for building confidence. Getting out onto the water, you will quickly develop basic skills and paddling techniques and find yourself getting down the lagoon in no time!
WWAC provides the perfect environment for an introduction to kayaking & canoeing without a current to contend with. Our very sheltered waters combined with our vast array of equipment to suit every size and confidence level of paddler.

Paddleboarding

Stand up paddle boarding is one of the best ways to test your balance and is considered the World’s fastest growing new water sport. From its Polynesian roots in the Hawaiian Islands, to the UK. Stand up paddleboarding is here to stay.
Here at WWAC we have a serene sheltered lagoon area which creates a stunning still environment to learn or to explore. It is a perfect activity for all the family, friends or colleagues regardless of experience, our instructors have lots of experience on SUP’s if you need any help.

Archery

Robin Hood, eat your heart out! Over many years our team of qualified instructors have developed a simplified coaching method which allows participants to learn quickly and have more time shooting and having fun!
Our archery team consist of GNAS Archery Leaders who will give you the best tuition possible! Age and ability is no issue we have both children’s and adults bows available. As with all our activities a thorough safety briefing takes places and all equipment will be provided.

From the A63, East or West, you will need to come off at the junction signposted for Welton, Elloughton & Brough. From the East side follow the road to the roundabout, from the West side follow the road round so that you go back over the A63 and down to the roundabout. At the roundabout follow the sign for Brough, at the next roundabout take the first left onto Moor Road, at the next roundabout go straight on you will then go over the railway bridge. At the next roundabout (Aldi roundabout) take the first left onto Blenheim Avenue (this is the new housing estate), follow the road through the housing estate – stay on this road, it does look like you are going onto a building site. You will come to some metal fencing and a “Road Closed” sign you will then see a diversion sign to turn right, this is putting you on Common Lane. Follow the lane and you will see the centre, a red brick building on your right.
