welcome to The Look out Discovery Centre, We are a hands-on science and discovery centre aimed at primary school aged children with over 90 activities to entertain. We have an amazing outdoor play area which includes an all-access section. With a picnic area and cafe, you can stay all day.

Our activities and exhibits are organised in 'zones' which correspond with what your child may be learning about at school. We hope that a visit to The Look Out will help them to experience how exciting science is.

  • The Super Secret Spy show: Perfect for curious agents aged 4 to 11, this high‑energy performance blends thrilling espionage missions with real scientific principles. Fast‑paced, funny, and full of “wow” moments, this show transforms audiences into secret agents on a mission to discover how science fuels the world of spies and solve an in-house heist! 
  • Science discovery shows: During Bracknell Forest school holidays, and most weekends, we run science discovery shows for those booked into the science exhibition. The interactive shows include exciting demonstrations and lively experiments or activities.
  • Toddler days: There's always plenty for toddlers to enjoy and explore at The Look Out Discovery Centre, and on our toddler days we have extra special activities for children up to age 5. This includes: face painting, story time sessions, sensory activities, arts and crafts.
  • Playground: We have a fantastic play area outside The Look Out, split into 3 parts. There are also lots of tables and benches surrounding the play area, which make wonderful picnic spots right on the edge of Swinley Forest.
  • Home educator days: Do you home educate your children? Our Home Educator Days are designed just for you! Join us once a month between October and April for a special day at the exhibition where home-educating families can explore, learn, and discover together.

Facilities

  • Parking: The car park is open daily from 7am until 8:30pm. Parking is £4 for 4 hours or £7.90 for all day.
  • Food & Drinks: The new Woodlarks Café is open for takeaway daily from 9am to 5pm. Enjoy your food and drinks outside next to the adventure play area and beautiful forest. 
  • Toilets: Our toilet facilities include a changing places toilet with radar key.

What you get: The cost per child is £15.95

Every party at The Look Out includes:

  • A party host for the full 2-hour event
  • A greeting from mascot Eric the Owl
  • A birthday present for the birthday child
  • Over an hour exploring the exhibition
  • A choice of a science demo or stick insect handling session
  • Time in the party room for food and birthday cake
  • Invitations emailed to you to distribute to your guests
