  • From Newport: Travel out of Newport on the B3323 following signs for Carisbrooke, then head straight across at the 3 successive mini roundabouts to reach the B3399 'The Middle Road'. Continue along The Middle Road for just over 7 miles until you see signs on the right for Tapnell Farm. Bus Service: From Saturday 5th April to Saturday 27th September Southern Vectis are operating a bus service between Newport and Yarmouth, stopping at Tapnell Farm. The route number 27 has been renamed 'Summer Links'. Timetable here
  • From Yarmouth: Travel out of Yarmouth on the A3054 following signs for Newport then take the first right turn onto B3401, signposted to Ventnor. Continue on this road until it joins Wilmingham Lane, then carry on until the T-junction with the B3399 'The Middle Road'. Turn left here (signposted Brighstone and Newport) and follow road for just over 1.5 miles until you see signs for Tapnell Farm on the left. Please ignore first turning signposted “Tapnell” which is a residents-only entrance. Bus Service: From Saturday 5th April to Saturday 27th September 2025 Southern Vectis are operating a bus service between Newport and Yarmouth, stopping at Tapnell Farm. The route number 27 has been renamed 'Summer Links. Timetable here There is also a taxi rank at Yarmouth Bus Station, next to the Wightlink Ferry, with bus links available to elsewhere on the Island.
  • Walking: The Tapnell Trail is a popular 6 mile circular walking route which runs through the grounds of Tapnell Farm. You can start the walk at the estuary crossing by The Causeway in Freshwater, which coincides with the old railway cycle path which leads to Yarmouth. For map, click here
