Cottage: From summer home to family home, explore the seven levels of the cottage - a rare surviving example of an Arts and Crafts home in its entirety.

Visiting the cottage at Stoneywell: The cottage at Stoneywell is a model of Arts and Crafts ideals. More recently lived in full-time by the grandson of its first owner, the cottage is furnished with many original pieces made by Ernest Gimson and his circle of craftsmen. Our car park is quite small and can only accommodate standard-sized vehicles. Food & Drinks: We have a small (but perfectly formed) tearoom serving hot and cold drinks and a selection of delicious cakes and snacks.

By road: The best way to find us it to exit the A50 towards Shepshed and turn right onto Priory Lane. Stoneywell is well signposted from here. From the M1,junction 22, take the exit onto the A50 signposted towards Leicester. Take the first slip road, signposted towards Shepshed, and turn right onto the Whitwick Road. Take the first right onto Priory Lane and follow for 0.8 miles, before turning left onto Whitcroft’s Lane. The car park for Stoneywell will be on your left in 0.1 miles.
On foot: We ask all of our visitors to check in at the car park on arrival, and take the shuttle bus down to the property. Please make your way to Whitcroft's Lane, just off Priory Lane.
By train: The nearest train station to Stoneywell is at Barrow-upon-Soar, 7 miles away.
By bus: The 29A and 29B buses operate from Leicester to Coalville. Disembark at Markfield, which is 2 miles from Stoneywell.
