Playhive: Get ready for the Playhive at Stockeld Park, a brand new world of indoor adventure for the whole family! The Playhive is one of Europe’s largest and most original indoor playgrounds! This is not indoor play as you know it. Step into a brand-new world of indoor adventure where the whole family will explore together. Adventure across high-level walkways and down spiraling tunnel slides. There is something for everyone from our toddler zone to giant slides and interactive games that will have everyone from the children to grandparents jumping for joy!
The Enchanted Forest: Enjoy interactive play, activities, games and adventure playgrounds hidden around every corner, set amongst beautiful natural surroundings. Open all year round, the forest evolves throughout the year to reflect the magic of the season, so each visit is extra special. As the seasons change, so does the Enchanted Forest. Hidden in the forest are five large adventure playgrounds each with their own theme, just waiting to be discovered: Teepee Encampment, Tangle Tree Climb, Woodsands Cove, Wonderland, Spider's Lair. Whether it's whizzing on zipwires, creating stories through role play or scaling treehouses, the forest has a playground your child will love.
The Magical Maze: Explore our fun filled maze and discover its secret objects, our maze is filled with surprises at every turn! Over 2 miles of paths in this 8-foot-high labyrinth, designed by maze genius Adrian Fisher. Climb the castle viewing tower to look out over the tops of the trees to find your friends and get your bearings or cross bridges and discover playful surprises, musical instruments and some unexpected obstacles! It’s the largest evergreen maze in Yorkshire and the 2000 yew trees used to make it were grown right here on the estate at Stockeld Park!
The Flying Stocksman: Head down to Stockeldbury Station and embark on a magical train ride around the Enchanted Forest on our electric powered land train. Each journey takes between 10-15 minutes, and trips run throughout the day. Just pick up a ticket at the station, grab your little conductors, and climb aboard! Ride across a magical track through our beautiful Enchanted Forest. As you go by, you’ll pass four outdoor playgrounds, including the Teepee Encampment and Woodsands Cove.
Teepee Encampment: The first of the 4 Adventure Playgrounds that you will come across as you enter through the gates of the Enchanted Forest! Our Teepee Encampment is the perfect place to encourage imaginative play! Hideout and start your own tribe or settle down and tell each other stories of cowboys and Indians! This is a great role play environment that free-spirited children will love. With slides galore too, you will have to tear them away from the fun to see what else the Forest has to offer!
Tangle Tree Climb: A mini obstacle course with a difference for your little monkeys! Take to the skies with our Tangle Tree Climb that’s fun for all ages! Mum and Dad can relax in the beauty of our Enchanted Forest while keeping an eye on their mini Tarzans enjoying our tree rope adventure. Or, if you feel so inclined why not join the fun!? Tangle tree climb is equally suited to adults too! Once they’ve taken on the Tangle Tree Climb why not head over to our Spider’s Lair where our resident friendly spider has laid webs of climbing nets, tunnels and more for your kids to explore!
Woodsands Cove: This huge sandpit adventure playground is located in a clearing in the heart of the Enchanted Forest, halfway around the walk and right in the middle of all of the fun! A perfect pitstop location! Little ones love kicking off their shoes and socks and digging in the sand. They can run through Noah’s Ark and the Pirate Ship, or climb up on board to see the view and then slide back down to the beach! Climb on the animals heading to the arc or jump onto the huge Viking swing with all of your friends!
Spider's Lair: A Big Friendly Spider has dropped into the Enchanted Forest and woven up some adventures in her very own playground! She has spun climbing nets and tunnels, jungle bridges and zip wires, slides and bags of fun and excitement! Set in our magical Enchanted Forest, this playground has features suitable for little children and big ones too! Make sure they don’t miss out on all the fun, our spider didn’t weave those webs for no one to use them!
Farmer Foster’s Barnyard: Set in our open parkland meadow, you will find another extensive play area. Farmer Foster’s adventure playground is designed for use by our younger visitors. Fittingly themed on a rural farmyard, little ones may climb into the henhouse or take a ‘ride’ on the big wooden tractor or monster truck. Crawl through tunnels, roll down hills or just relax on the swings and enjoy the view! Farmer Foster’s Barnyard is fun for kids of all ages and is suitable for the younger kids in the group!
Outdoor Inflatables: Check out our outdoor Inflatable Zone, with a massive air-filled jumping pillow which provides endless fun! We also have a giant inflatable slide and a mini inflatable slide which is endlessly popular with children! Challenge each other on the 100ft long inflatable obstacle course! Can you make it to the end? Who can complete it the fastest?
Pedal Go Karts: The Go Kart track is on our beautiful meadow, alongside Farmer Foster’s adventure playground and our fun Inflatable Zone. The Go Karts are a fun way for the children to take some exercise in the Yorkshire countryside. The meadow where they are situated is sheltered by the Enchanted Forest where you can continue your great day out discovering fun packed adventure play areas spread out through beautiful natural woodland.
