The farm offers off-road riding adventures across scenic tracks, fields, and bridleways, perfect for riders of all levels. Riding Lessons: Riding lessons are available for all age groups, from 5 years on lead reins through to adults. Lessons cater to complete beginners as well as experienced riders, covering flat work, general lessons, and jumping. Private, semi-private, and small group lessons are offered to ensure focused instruction and individual attention.
Teenage Riding Holiday: The teenage riding holiday is designed for unaccompanied riders aged 11 and above, from novice to experienced, including those ready to start cantering. Riding groups are split by skill level to ensure maximum enjoyment. Now in its 20th year, the holiday includes longer sessions and additional features, with feedback and reviews available on social media and TripAdvisor. Online booking is available.
Trail Rides – Beginner / Novice Adult / Family Riding Holiday: This option is available for 2 or 3 nights.
- Day 1: Arrival around 1pm to settle into accommodation. An assessment lesson ensures compatibility with the chosen horse. Riders can assist with untacking and turning out, or relax for the evening while enjoying views of the Berwyn Mountain range.
- Day 2: Riders can prepare their horse for the day or have it prepared for them. A morning hack explores surrounding trails and local terrain. The afternoon includes a lesson or another hack, followed by rest or exploration of the local area.
- Day 3: Riders prepare their horse and embark on a picnic ride lasting around 2 hours, traversing varied terrain before returning to the farm.
- Day 4: An optional lesson or last hack in the countryside is available before departure.
3-Day Self-Catering Trail Ride: Suitable for novice to experienced riders seeking riding at a faster pace.
- Day 1: Arrival at 1pm, settling into accommodation. An assessment lesson ensures rider-horse compatibility. Riders can assist with untacking or relax for the evening.
- Day 2: Morning preparation of the horse, followed by a day’s ride with picnic lunches in saddle bags. The route passes Welsh mountain sheep, old drovers’ tracks, and bridleways through Powys and onto ‘the Gyrn,’ offering views across Wrexham, Powys, and Shropshire counties. The morning concludes with a long canter up a grassy bridleway. The afternoon ride meanders back home, followed by settling the horses and evening relaxation.
- Day 3: Riders explore the Upper Ceiriog Trail to the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog for pub lunch, continuing along trails for final canters. Evening includes a gentle walk and sunset.
- Day 4: A final leisurely ride explores Pen-Y-Gwely reservoir, taking in the changing terrain and cantering spots before returning to the farm for departure.

- Continue to Oswestry and take the B4579 directly into town.
- At the Morrisons roundabout, go straight through traffic lights and mini roundabout (Sainsbury on the right).
- Follow the one-way street until just before the petrol station, then turn sharp left onto Castle Street.
- At the T-junction, turn right onto Willow Street (B4580) towards Llansillin.
- Continue uphill for 2 miles to Old Racecourse Common, then turn right at the sign for Ffordd Careg Y Big.
- After 1 mile, at the T-junction, turn right, then 50 yards later turn left following Llechrydau signs.
- Continue 1¾ miles past forestry and stone walls.
- At the sharp right bend, bear left downhill through the farmyard and gate.
- Continue 1 mile over moorland and a cattle grid; Springhill Farm is on the right. Riding entrance is second; accommodation is first.
From Wrexham, Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, and the North: Not suitable for lorries
- Continue to Chirk on the A483, taking brown signs for Chirk and Ceiriog Valley.
- At the next roundabout, take the first exit into Chirk.
- Turn right by the church for Glyn Ceiriog.
- After 6 miles, in Glyn Ceiriog, turn left at the mini roundabout (1st exit), pass the post office, cross the bridge, then turn immediately right at the speed de-restriction sign into a narrow lane.
- Head uphill for 2 miles; continue straight at the junction for another ½ mile to arrive at Springhill Farm (left). Accommodation entrance is first; riding entrance is second.
From Llangollen (A5 & North West Wales): Not suitable for lorries; includes 25% gradients
- Alternative: Continue via Chirk (adds 9 miles, avoids steep gradients).
- Travel east on A5, turn right towards Green Bank, then left into Hill Street (Plas Newydd).
- Take the second lane on the right signed Glyn Ceiriog.
- Continue steeply uphill 1.2 miles, then turn right for 1.3 miles to a crossroads with a farmhouse.
- Turn left downhill into Glyn Ceiriog.
- At the mini roundabout, take the second exit signed Selattyn, pass the post office, cross the bridge, and turn immediately right into a narrow lane.
- Head uphill 2 miles; continue straight at the junction for ½ mile to Springhill Farm (left).

- Head south on A5/A483 past Chirk.
- At the second roundabout after the second bridge, take the 3rd exit onto Station Rd towards Weston Rhyn.
- Continue over mini roundabout toward Selattyn.
- After 0.4 miles, take the second left for 1.4 miles, then turn right for 0.5 miles and right again toward Selattyn.
- Continue through Selattyn and into Wales for 2.9 miles.
- Turn slightly left onto the lane rising above the road; after 0.7 miles, bear right and continue 1.8 miles.
- At the junction, turn left; Springhill Farm will be on the left after 0.7 miles.
