Rheged Indoor Play in Penrith, Cumbria, is a bright and beautifully designed soft play space located within the award-winning Rheged Centre. Created by Tigerplay, it offers a safe and imaginative environment for children aged up to 8 years — perfect for fun family days out in the Lake District.

The play area features three racing slides, a toddler play section, and a unique ‘nest-like’ den reached by climbing walls and ladders. Parents can relax in the adjoining café serving artisan coffee, cakes, and snacks, while keeping a clear view of their children at play. With free parking, including EV charging, and easy access from the M6 and A66, it’s designed for comfort and convenience.

Entry costs £5 for ages 1–8 and £2.50 for under 1s per session. Sessions run Monday to Friday (9:30am–12:30pm / 1:00pm–4:00pm) and hourly on weekends.

Rheged’s state of-the-art indoor play area, designed by Tigerplay features a new café serving coffees and cakes, along with a seating area for parents and guardians. The revamped space features three slides alongside each other to race down and a specific area for young children.
It also includes an elevated level including a ‘nest-like’ den which can be reached through climbing walls and ladders. The play area is suitable for those up to eight-years-old, or 4ft 6ins in height.

Rheged is a couple of minutes’ drive from the M6 (J40) at Penrith along the A66 towards Keswick. Regular bus services between Penrith and Keswick stop at Rheged. Our 250-space car park is free for Rheged visitors, but if you plan on staying longer than 5 hours, please register your number plate with a colleague in our café or deli to avoid a car parking charge. Once registered, you can stay for an additional 7 hours (max 12 hours total).
