Loughgall Country Park is a spacious rural park offering a perfect mix of relaxation, recreation and outdoor activities. Additional highlights include picnic areas with BBQ stands, viewpoints overlooking the lake and plenty of space for jogging, exercise and outdoor relaxation. 

Entry is free, though parking charges apply for visitors using on-site facilities.

  • The emphasis, indeed, is very much on family pursuits. Walking, cycling, a children’s play area, golf, fishing, an adventure trail, trim trail, football pitch and tennis courts are just some of the amenities on offer.

The extensive facilities offer considerable scope for pursuing a healthy lifestyle while at the same time providing an invaluable recreational outlet for children, even those of a very young age.

  • Picnicking, jogging, and exercising are the optional extras. Picnic tables, some with BBQ stands are available throughout the park. Follow the colour coded trail waymarked discs on the wooden posts located throughout the park.

What to see

Choose from five unique trails of varying lengths and grades.

  • Lakeside Trail: A short, flat route guides visitors around the lake. The path is accessible to all making it perfect for buggies and children on small bikes. Take a rest at one of the three viewpoints and enjoy the beautiful views out over the lake. Easy grade, distance 1.3miles, time 45 minutes.
  • Bramley Trail: This easy woodland loop takes visitors past the beautiful Bramley orchard and several of the Park’s historical features, the Hermitage, Lime Kiln, Walled Gardens and the Old Cottage. The trail then descends to join the Lakeside trail before returning to the car park. Easy grade, distance 1.4miles, time 1 hour
  • Orchard Trail: This scenic walk initially follows the pony trail before veering off to take in the fabulous Bramley orchard. Follow the route past the hermitage site before choosing to return to the car park or extend your journey along the Lakeside or Bramley trail. Easy grade, distance 2 miles, time 1 hour
  • Trim Trail: For an energetic walk, run or workout the trim trail initially follow the Lakeside trail before a short climb to join the Pony trail. Proceed from station to station performing the illustrated exercises at each one, there are thirteen in total. The trail starts at Station A located close to the trailhead. Moderate grade, 2.4miles distance, time 1 hour 30 minutes
