This award-winning working farm, run by Chris and Sue Heseltine, is home to over 1,000 livestock including cattle, sheep, pigs, and more. Families can enjoy feeding and stroking animals, cuddling guinea pigs, collecting eggs, brushing pigs, and exploring fun play areas such as the giant sandpit and straw maze. Tractor rides with Farmer Chris run throughout the day for a small charge of £1.50, while outdoor activities include pedal tractors, go-karts, climbing nets, agility courses, rope swings, and a double zip wire.   • Hesketh Farm Park: The Farm Park covers around 10 acres of greenery overlooking the Yorkshire hills, with the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Train whistling by in the valley below. Hesketh Farm is still a working farm with over 1,000 livestock including cattle, sheep, and pigs. 
  • Indoor Facilities: As Dales’ weather can be unpredictable, the farm has a large cosy undercover barn with an efficient heating system so that days remain fun-packed even if it is chilly outside. Inside, visitors can feed and stroke the animals, enjoy the giant sandpit, or play hide and seek in the straw maze.
  • Meet the Animals: Visitors can enjoy a wide collection of animals, including sheep and lambs (seasonal), calves, pigs and piglets, goats, hens and chicks, ducks, guinea pigs, and giant tortoises named Samson, Delilah, and George. In the main barn, guests can cuddle guinea pigs, see eggs hatching in incubators, handle chicks, and brush the pigs.
  • Feeding the Animals and Egg Collecting: Guests can take part in daily farm jobs including feeding the animals and collecting eggs. Guinea pigs are available for cuddles all day, while pigs love to be brushed at any time.
  • Tractor Rides: Tractor and trailer rides with Farmer Chris take place throughout the day, subject to weather. These rides cost £1.50 per person. During term time, public rides start after 2.15pm, as earlier times are reserved for school and group visits. Tractor rides are also wheelchair accessible.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Fun: After feeding and petting the animals, children can play in the giant sandpit, race on pedal tractors, or enjoy outdoor fun. Activities include pedal go-karts, climbing the spider’s net, testing skills on the wooden agility course, hide and seek in the straw maze, double zip wire races, and rope swings.
  • Group Visits: Hesketh Farm Park welcomes group visits during term time. Structured visits are designed for school groups and run by Sue, Farmer Chris, and the Hesketh team. Days usually start at 10.30am and finish around 2.00pm. Children are divided into groups of about 20 and rotate through 30-minute activities including, Unstructured visits allow access to the same activities in a less formal way, perfect for nurseries and playgroups.
