Shop: We are a story destination for all ages in our ‘Apothecary to the Magical’. As you enter you are immediately transported into a world of wonder and enchantment. Warm greetings from friendly shop keepers take you on a tour of wild schemes, mysterious plots and kitchenware.
Café: Our Feastery café serves hot food from 10am to 3pm (4pm on Thursdays) with both mortal and magical options to choose from. We also have a range of delicious, freshly baked cakes, biscuits and treats on the counter, as well as Dark Woods Coffee and hot chocolate, Teapigs tea and a selection of cold drinks for all ages.
Activities: We have ‘self-led’ creative activities in the shop and café at all times, as well as board games that you can enjoy at your table. We also run creative workshops for ages 0-18. Take a free book from our Forgotten Library, full of donated books that need a new home! We have books for all ages, and accept donations too.
Get Outside: It’s officially spring, and the weather is changing. Think about the outdoors and all the sensory benefits for babies and their development, exploring the world around them. Younger babies can lie or sit outside, and enjoy feeling the gentle breeze, listening to the birds and seeing the changing light in the dappled shade. As babies learn to crawl, the outdoor environment engages their senses as they crawl on different surfaces.
Playdough: By allowing children to make their OWN playdough they are using their skills to mix, measure and pour, by making this together and following the recipe your child will learn to associate writing with purpose and connect written and spoken word.
Tuff trays: Tuff trays are a simple way of introducing your child to sensory play in the home while containing the mess. These trays can be purchased from most DIY shops for around £10-£20 however you can use any sort of tray you wish – a metal tray, tub or any plastic tray will do.

Birthday Party Details

We would love to welcome you and your young person to celebrate their birthday with us! We offer a range of structured activities to choose from along with a fully catered party tea (including sandwiches, savoury and sweet treats, and a magic colouring-changing potion for all attendees!). Our parties take place in the Forge of Fact and Fiction (activities) and Cliffhanger Castle (party tea) on the ground floor. For children over the age of 7, this journey includes an optional trip down the beanstalk.

The cost of a birthday party is £20 per child, which includes one activity, the party tea, a trip down the beanstalk, and a book from the Forgotten Library. Extra activities, party bags and a birthday cake can be provided at an additional cost.
