Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park is made up of four acres of freshwater habitat and is home to a fascinating array of wildlife.
Since 2002 the Ecology Park has been open to the public and has rapidly become an established and bio-diverse urban wetland. The park is carefully managed by the park wardens and our team of dedicated volunteers to maintain a delicate balance of habitats, which play host to our many different wildlife species. The tranquil park is a stunning natural area for people to discover and enjoy in the heart of Greenwich.

Features

Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park is a four‑acre freshwater habitat in Greenwich, home to a rich variety of wildlife and open to the public since 2002. The park features two lakes, marshland, and woodland areas that support birds, insects, and other species, along with a colorful wildflower meadow that attracts bats, frogs, and butterflies. Visitors can enjoy specially designed bird hides for close‑up views of different bird species throughout the seasons. It’s a peaceful natural space ideal for relaxing walks, school visits, and organized activities, making it a perfect spot for a day out in the heart of Greenwich.


Here are the upcoming events at TCV Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park (all free drop-in activities, no booking required):

  • Wednesday 30 July – Build-a‑Bird Collage: create bird collages from recycled maps, then spot bird species around the park, available in two sessions (11 am–12 pm and 2–3 pm)  
  • Thursday 31 July – Fizzy Minds: mindfulness and wellbeing activities for all ages using games, stories, and crafts (11 am–12 pm & 2–3 pm)  
  • Friday 1 August – Potpourri and Herbal Bath Bags: aromatic workshop using herbs and essential oils to make bath bags or potpourri (11 am–12 pm & 2–3 pm)  
  • Wednesday 6 August – Orizome: Japanese paper-dyeing and folding workshop with artist Miyuki Kasahara to make colourful flags using natural dyes (11 am–1 pm)  
  • Thursday 7 August – Playdough Mandalas: make playdough mandalas to take home, with indoor/outdoor sessions at 11 am and 2 pm  
  • Friday 8 August – Natural Paint Brushes: craft paintbrushes from natural materials and contribute to a group painting activity (11 am–12 pm & 2–3 pm)  

These interactive events are perfect for families and children up to age eight, and they all run at the Ecology Park gatehouse on weekdays.
