Fleetwood Museum is a community museum, run by Fleetwood Museum Trust, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
The museum exists to collect, preserve, interpret and share the rich history of Fleetwood.

The current displays include family friendly content such as dressing up and toys. They also have several quizzes and trails for children and families to complete around the museum. In April 2018, the running of Fleetwood Museum was taken over by Fleetwood Museum Trust from Lancashire County Council. The Trust actively collects material relating to Fleetwood history, as well as managing the collection of Fleetwood related material from Lancashire County Council Museum Service, which is on loan to Fleetwood Museum. Fleetwood Museum continues to collect material from Fleetwood history.
Harriet: In 1998, the Fleetwood built fishing smack, Harriet, was rescued from Millom and brought back to Fleetwood. The vessel was built at the Singleton Bros. Yard in Fleetwood in 1893. As one of the few surviving fishing smacks left in the UK, Harriet is of national significance, recognised by her being part of the National Historic Fleet. Harriet is on display in the Boat Hall, to the rear of the Museum. MORE INFO.
Judy: Judy (originally named Welshgirl and then Millie), is a type of prawner vessel known as a ‘Nobby’. Judy was built in Fleetwood at Liver & Wildings in 1904, most likely by the famous boat designer William Stoba. Judy is on the National Register of Historic Vessels. She is not currently on display. The Loan Collection: The loan collection from Lancashire County Council Museum Service includes some non-maritime related material, for example from Fleetwood Grammar School, or material about Fleetwood as a seaside destination. Most of the collection relates to the town’s fishing heritage. This includes photographs, ship models, fine art, deep sea and inshore fishing equipment, shipwright’s tools, sailor’s personal belongings.
