Rainton Farm has been an organic farm for more than 20 years, and in recent years our farm team have been pioneering a high-welfare, ecological approach to dairy farming that keeps the calves with their mums to suckle naturally.

The Finlay family have farmed at Rainton since the 1920s, and with each generation comes new priorities and new approaches to producing food from this beautiful part of Galloway.

They enjoy working with schools, colleges and universities to design events and experiences for students. We are able to offer a range of pre-set packages, or we can design an experience, tour or activity that fits with your particular curriculum requirements.

The diverse range of experiences and activities we provide at Cream o’ Galloway makes it a popular destination for organised group visits for all sorts of reasons.

Travel Trade
They are always happy to work with travel trade operators to design group packages and experiences to suit itinerary planning. We have the catering facilities to accommodate large parties with ease and our main car park can accommodate coaches of up to 52 seats. We can design group visit experiences to suit any time slot, from 30 minutes long tasting experiences to 2 hour farm tours to full day practical workshops.

Crazy Golf
The crazy golf course is all about having relaxed fun as a family. The 9 hole course will take you down and back up a slight slope where you’ll putt over, under and around a range of farm-themed obstacles.

Events at Cream o’ Galloway
The hugely popular Ice Cream Making Workshops run on Tuesdays and weekends in our quieter periods and every day during school holidays, and our full-day Cheese Making Course usually runs once a week. They are also running farm tours regularly throughout the year. Our family-friendly tour is called All About Our Farm, and our farmer-led tour, which is designed for adults and older teens, is called The Ethical Dairy Farm Tour.
