Features

  • Crafts in the Corner: Crafts in the Corner is an independently owned creative studio offering craft sessions and birthday parties for adults and children, alongside stocking an impressive range of craft supplies, haberdashery items, fabric and yarn. Drop-in activities and bookable workshops are suitable for all ages and include painting, decoupage, and sand art. Crafts in the Corner also offers a teddy bear repair service, giving a new lease of life to treasured teddies.
  • The Playbarn: Opened in 1997 and recently refurbished with a new disco area, The Playbarn is a warm and welcoming place for children of all ages to enjoy stimulating play whilst developing social skills in a safe, clean environment with friendly and helpful staff. Research shows that children from crawlers and toddlers to older children learn effectively through play; in our Playbarn we have a soft play area with soft bricks and developmental toys for crawlers, a special area for under 3s with a slightly smaller slide, a big ball pool and things that make funny noises to keep them entertained!
  • Cheshire Craft Workshop: The Cheshire Craft Workshop is a creative space where visitors can try their hand at a variety of crafts and activities. The workshop offers a range of sessions for all ages and abilities, such as pottery painting, pottery throwing and jewellery making. Participants can select from a variety of materials and designs to create their own unique pieces of clay art. Walk-in sessions are available, alongside a calendar of pre-bookable workshops for all ages.
  • Forest Glide Segway: Duration approx. 1 Hour – On arriving at Cheshire Segway you will be met by your guide and following your safety briefing will be shown through to your Segway PT (Personal Transporter) and offered a full training session to enable you mount, dismount, move forward, stop and turn left or right, along with a few tips to enable you to get the most out of your Segway PT experience.
  • Archery: The bow has been the weapon of choice in the UK for hundreds of years, key to both hunting and war, it kept England free of invaders and with filled stomachs through the middle ages until modern times. Archery today makes use of modern materials, but the methods and skills required to make an accurate shot are still the same. A good archer needs concentration to hold the bow steady under the strain of the draw and the skill to take account of gravity and wind
  • Cheshire Falconry: Prepare to be amazed as you get hands-on with magnificent birds of prey in our range of truly incredible flying experiences. Pull on a gauntlet and fly awe-inspiring birds with our expert falconry team to guide you. Whether it’s our immersive flying taster session – The Raptor Encounter, or the thrill of an Eagle Adventure, if it’s flying birds of prey, we have got experiences for you to remember forever!
  • Aviary Experience: No need to book, just turn up! The raptor housing area is divided into two sections. Firstly we have our weathering lawn where trained birds of prey are placed on perches in order to sun themselves (depending on the weather), bathe and relax. Weathering stimulates the birds to preen, therefore increasing their ability to resist waterlogging and it also helps to keep their flight feathers in tip-top condition. Here you will see the majority of hawks, eagles and falcons that we train using falconry techniques, which are used in our flying demonstrations and hands-on flying experiences.
  • Miniature Railway: Hop aboard for family fun with The Mid Cheshire Society of Model Engineers Miniature Railway! We run trains on Sundays throughout the year, unless the weather is exceptionally poor, between 12:00 noon and 4:00pm. We also run on most bank holidays and on most Wednesdays during the school holidays.
  • Crazy golf: Looking for an outdoor activity that’s a little more relaxing for the end of the day? Try crazy golf. You don’t have to have a handicap of less than 25 or be the next Tiger Woods to do well on our greens. Built to an excellent standard, they will test your problem solving skills, timing and concentration. Use a putter to send your ball over a bridge, through a clown’s mouth or round a corner and get it in the hole in as few shots as you can.
  • Low Ropes: The balance and agility needed to complete our 15 element low ropes course is not lessened by the fact it is closer to the ground. In fact, because it’s only a metre off the ground we can challenge your sense of balance and coordination to its limits. Coming in a group? Let us challenge your problem solving and team building skills to see if you can not only get your team around the course without touching the ground.
